VitalStart Pediatrics was founded on a simple but powerful vision: to provide exceptional, compassionate, and comprehensive primary care for high-risk infants and children with complex medical needs. Our original mission was to create a trusted medical home for some of our most vulnerable patients, particularly those transitioning from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) into life at home.

However, before ever opening our doors, we recognized another pressing challenge facing families in our communities: the growing difficulty of accessing timely, reliable pediatric primary care. We realized that the need for compassionate, high-quality healthcare extended far beyond children with complex medical histories. Every child deserves access to a trusted healthcare provider, regardless of their medical history, insurance coverage, or financial circumstances.

That realization helped shape VitalStart Pediatrics into what it is becoming today: a nurse practitioner-led pediatric primary care practice dedicated to serving all children, from newborns through adolescence, beginning on our very first day. Whether your child has complex medical needs, was born prematurely, or simply needs a trusted provider for routine well-child visits, preventive care, and everyday childhood illnesses, VitalStart Pediatrics is being built with your family in mind. Our vision is to welcome families with Medi-Cal, private insurance, and no insurance.

What makes VitalStart Pediatrics especially unique is our foundation in neonatal and pediatric advanced practice nursing.

Founded by a Doctor of Nursing Practice and board-certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, with additional training in pediatric primary care, VitalStart Pediatrics brings together specialized neonatal expertise and a commitment to comprehensive childhood wellness.

For families whose children have experienced premature birth, prolonged hospitalization, or a challenging start in life, the transition from the NICU to home can feel overwhelming. Our goal is to make that transition easier by providing continuity, guidance, and individualized care from a provider who understands the complexities of neonatal medicine and the unique needs of these children as they grow.

But specialized expertise is only part of our story. We believe the same compassion, clinical excellence, and attention to detail that medically complex children deserve should be available to every child.
